about Noggin

Noggin is a subscription learning app marketed to parents of preschoolers, designed by education experts to teach kids math, science, literacy, music, and manners. It has more than 1,500 educational videos, learning games, and ebooks. Noggin helps preschoolers learn about numbers, sounds, shapes, letters, and art through their favorite characters such as PAW Patrol, Peppa Pig, & Blue's Clues.

overview

In today's constantly changing digital environment, wrangling all your data is an ongoing challenge. It's table stakes for an app to be present on the various platforms and, in order to reach today's audiences, it needs to be marketed on another variety of platforms multiplying all the places data lives.

A light, agile solution was imperative for Nickelodeon to be able to take action on this data quickly before the next pivot as well as retain value pivot after pivot. This was built into the solution from the ground up and then kept sharp through our ongoing maintenance.

Lastly, but most importantly, we know how important online data privacy is, especially for any app used by children.  Although the marketing efforts center on parents, we were happy to take extra steps to accommodate Nickelodeon’s rigorous standards to ensure that all data was kept secure at all times.

approach

LIGHT

Speed to market and speed of queries on the data were as important as getting access to the right data sets. Quickly knocking out the deliverables avoided an opportunity cost from loss of insights and fast queries and reports saved on important analyst resource time.

AGILE

Partnering closely with stakeholders and releasing each data source to them as it was completed in real-time was a critical piece of the approach. It gave the client ability to incrementally validate and integrate, so that they could hit the ground running. The solution itself was also designed to anticipate and adapt to changes in the source data.

ENABLE

Using the latest open-source tools allowed for an easy hand-off as well as savings on data storage costs. Combined with user-friendly documentation, it also allowed the client to own ongoing scalability of additional data sources.

PRIVACY

Nickelodeon’s framework for ensuring all data remain anonymous, non-targetable and secure was a critical component for this engagement.  Building off the trust of the Amazon tool set, we provided assurance that all data collected and managed would abide by this criteria and remain under Nickelodeon’s control at all times.
